tI did not know for example what Americans understood under "separation of church and state" and could not precisely identify the religious groups that could be challenge to the First Amendment. I learned the words "charter schools" and got acquainted with the concept of "school vouchers".
"Bullying" was also a word I had never heard of, and I risk to sound here like a barbarian. I was acquainted with school violence but had quite underestimated the devastating effects of bullying.
Statistics and human geography helped me develop and a broader view of American society
Discussions with my peers also helped me get closer to a new thinking mentality. They always drove to reflections about very concrete issues.
